Drop Front Floating Fireplace Mantle w/ Hidden Storage Shelf for Electronics

Custom made to order, these mantles are the perfect blend of function and craftsmanship. Made from only quality kiln-dried hardwoods and materials, these mantles are built to last! Each mantle combines a traditional look with an upgrade that allows for stowing components and accessories out of sight and inside the mantle. They can be built with a completely closed back or an open back, as shown, that allows for wires to be hidden behind the fireplace AND for deeper electronics to be hidden. Interior dimensions of the mantles is ~1.5" less that the ordered dimension, for instance, and 8x8 mantle will have an interior dimension of 6.5x6.5 inches. (Mantle shown is 6x8, providing 4.5" in height and 6.5" in depth, with an open back to allow for larger electronics in center. Keep in mind that I can customize these dimensions, making the mantle to fit your needs, not just a cookie cutter size, if requested.) An added benefit of this mantle type is that NO special bracket is required to install them. Simply take off the drop down door (mantle is equipped with quick-detach hinges) and screw the mantle through the back plate right into the studs! These mantles come equipped with soft close hinges and magnetic closure assist in addition to a "fingernail lip" on the door for easy opening.

Mantles listed are made from high-quality white oak and walnut materials. I have posted a sampling of the colors and materials that are available, but keep in that the actually grain of the material will vary, and the colors shown are representative.  Walnut specifically will have a lot of variation in color, from very dark to light, adding to the beauty and richness of the material. I can also make mantles in any wood type, from cedar to maple and even high-end materials like quarter-sawn oak. Prices will generally be very similiar to those listed, with the exception of select high-grade materials depending on the current market price.
 
Mantles are available in the sizes shown, and in custom sizes. There are simply too many options to list, but if you need something down to a fraction of an inch, or something even longer than listed, just send me a message! The same goes with stain and paint colors, as there are hundreds of options.

*Note, standard configuration for the 6x8 mantle is 6" tall by 8" deep, if you would like it reversed, just send me a note.

For the colors listed, oil finishes will have a satin sheen while stained & aged colors will be covered in multiple top coats of hand-rubbed polyurethane for a protective satin finish. If you require a gloss finish, please just add a note to your order. Both oil and stain/poly are extremely durable. I can also paint the mantles a solid color rather than stain, just send me a message if that is what you are interetsed in.

Standard orders will include a clean mantle with soft edges/corners for durability. If you would like additional artificial aging or intentional wear to give a rustic, worn look, please add a note with your order and I will reach out.

Depending on the type and signal requirements of the electronics used, a remote sensor can be added or the mantle will need to be opened temporarily to allow for the function of a DVD or video game console. Many electronics can be fitted with an optical sensor that can discreetly hidden allowing the electronics to function with the mantle closed and some operate on bluetooth signals rather than optical line-of-sight.
